Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian singer-songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. Her music is classified by DiFranco as folk, alternative and rock, but it also has influences from jazz and hip-hop. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as a female icon, and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the father in DIY music. She was among the very first musicians to start her own label in the year 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They came together at their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian descent, and her mother hails from Montreal. 32 Flavors is a song written and performed by Ani DiFranco. This song was released in 1995 on the sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. The song is featured on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized for hosting a workshop in Louisiana at an old plantation for slaves. It was cancelled but a lot of people (including this report) didn't detect remorse. DiFranco apologized for her actions several days afterward. She is known for her Little Folksinger style, but she's performed with many musicians and different genres, including Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer hails from New Orleans. Ani diFranco and Kristen Ford are together. Her first songs were written at the age of fourteen. The songs were performed in cafes and bars throughout her teens. DiFranco started taking lessons at Buffalo State College at age sixteen after having graduated from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's baritone is a customized Alvarez guitar, which was designed through a series of consultations with Chrys, an Alvarez artist representative during the time. DiFranco is at home living in New Orleans where she lives with her husband two children along with their sidekick Lefty the dog they have for a long time who wanders in and out of frame while we talk. After three decades of her career DiFranco admits to having different feelings when looking into the rearview. Punk/folk singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco ascended to musical heroine in the year 25 among both fans as well as critics, with her seventh studio album Not A Pretty Girl in 1995. She then had even more popular successes by releasing Dilate the following year. The song, a pop rock hit from 1972 (You're a fine girl) was composed by American band Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass.
