Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian singer-songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. Her music is classified by DiFranco as folk, alternative and rock, but it also has influences from jazz and hip-hop. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as a female icon, and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the father in DIY music. She was among the very first musicians to start her own label in the year 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They came together at their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian descent, and her mother hails from Montreal. 32 Flavors is a song written and performed by Ani DiFranco. This song was released in 1995 on the sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. The song is featured on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999.
