She's worked for numerous top media organizations across the globe. The last decade was spent in the Washington Post. The Washington Post covering football, basketball, multiple Olympics as well as Grand Slam Tennis. Nichols joined ESPN in 2004 and stayed for nearly nine years with the company, winning the network two Emmy Awards. She also appeared on the most popular shows on ESPN like SportsCenter or NFL Countdown. In addition, Nichols was an on-line reporter for Monday Night Football broadcasts. Apart from the reporting on TBS, she also covered baseball and golf broadcasts and Final Four on CBS. It was the only occasion in the award's 42 year record that a woman is nominated amongst the more than 200 candidates.
